The Flex Test was done in a machine shop on a mechanical metal press. Each shovel was forced to “flex” under 725 lbs. of pressure from its normal form onto a 4” opening repeatedly until a crack developed in the shovel. The number of times the shovel “flexed” before developing a crack was recorded. The process was then continues until the shovel reached total failure (the crack grew until the shovel was useless). This point was recorded as well.

• At a 4” opening, the Bully Scoop shovel went 7,200 repetitions before a crack developed.
